Partners4Housing Announces New Partnership

Posted by Pam Blanton on May 5, 2014

Partners4Housing is excited to announce  our new partnership with Community Homes!!

Our partnership will create new community-living opportunities for people with disabilities in King County.

Partners4Housing is developing a system for “matching” people with disabilities and their families who are interested in finding roommates and forming partnerships to create shared housing solutions for their family member.  The essence of our housing model is that compatible families commit to working together to identify and secure housing and support services.  Quality caregivers are essential to this partnership, and Community Homes will collaborate with us to recruit and train caregivers.

There are 3000 adults with developmental disabilities in King County who live at home with their families.

Partners4Housing and Community Homes are committed to meeting the needs of these families. High-quality, community-based living for adults with developmental disabilities depends on high-quality, well-trained, and  consistent caregivers.

We invite you to support Community Homes through the Seattle Foundation’s GiveBIG Campaign on May 6, 2014.  All donations made to Community Homes through The Seattle Foundation’s website on May 6 will receive a percentage of Seattle Foundation’s matching funds.

Your contribution will be used by Community Homes to:

  • Find and recruit qualified, dedicated caregivers
  • Help new caregivers navigate the training and licensing processes
  • Provide mentoring and experience caring for adults with developmental disabilities
  • Train new caregivers to run a variety of community-based living settings
  • Assist caregivers in setting up new homes

Now is the time for innovative solutions.  Partners4Housing’s collaboration with Community Homes will create new community-living opportunities for people with disabilities in King County.
