What is SSI?

From the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities – SSI improves the quality of life for persons who are elderly or have a disability by providing financial support, incentives to work, and access to medical care (through Medicaid; enrollment in SSI generally brings with it eligibility for Medicaid).
